Overview

Living with Water partnered with Ducks Unlimited to develop storymaps highlighting innovative nature-based solutions for coastal adaptation in British Columbia. The Sturgeon Bank Sediment Enhancement Pilot Project and the Boundary Bay Living Dike Project are featured as case studies that explore the role of restored habitats in mitigating coastal flooding, reducing erosion, and enhancing biodiversity. The Sturgeon Bank Sediment Enhancement Pilot Project focuses on using dredged sediment to restore intertidal marshes, showcasing its benefits for flood resilience and ecological health. The Boundary Bay Living Dike Project highlights how marsh restoration can serve as a natural buffer while supporting community adaptation efforts. Through interactive maps, visuals, and detailed narratives, the storymaps provide an engaging look at the potential of nature-based solutions. These tools aim to inform stakeholders, guide policy, and promote sustainable strategies to address the impacts of sea-level rise and climate change.
